Congregation Adas Emuno, located in the town of Leonia in Bergen County, northeast New Jersey, has a history of joyfully welcoming interfaith families into our congregation. The directive to welcome the stranger is the commandment most stressed and most often repeated in the Torah. Our congregation participates in an annual community interfaith Thanksgiving service which is held at rotating houses of worship within Leonia. |
Rabbi Schwartz led the interfaith effort to establish Leonia as a sanctuary city in 2017, resulting in the compromise resolution to declare Leonia a "welcoming community".
