     Dear Friends,
        We are all in shock once again at what is happening in our country.
        At our Shabbat Evening Zoom Service (7:30 PM) we will relate to this in both our prayers and the sermon/discussion that will follow.
        I am gratified for your support of these services; last week we has some forty people in attendance.
        We celebrate the bar mitzvah of Griffin Lawrence at a Shabbat Morning Zoom Service  (11:00 AM). Mazal tov to Griffin and his family!

    Dear Friends,
       The holiday of Shavuot begins at sundown, which celebrates the giving of the Torah and when we traditionally chant the Ten Commandments, read the Book of Ruth, and eat cheese blintzes.

        Our Reform movement has some nice virtual programming that you can find at the URJ's website: https://urg.org.

         We will celebrate the holiday with a special creative reading based on the Book of Ruth, at our Zoom Shabbat Evening Service (7:30 PM).
         
         I am very gratified at the great start for Zoom Shabbat last week, with some thirty people in attendance.
         This week's service will feature a bit more English and varying melodies.
         And we will have a special guest musical appearance!

    Dear Friends,
       As we move to our summer schedule we are happy to announce: Zoom Shabbat!
            Join me each week (7:30 PM) for 20/20- a twenty minute service followed by a twenty minute sermon/discussion.
        The weekly sign-in information was emailed to members. Check your email for that information
        Prayer books can be picked up from a bag on the porch of the religious school at any time.
        This week, in honor of Memorial Day, I will tell the story of a remarkable project to identify the graves of Jewish soldiers of WWII mistakenly buried as Christians.
         Each week we'll linger at our virtual oneg to catch up with one another.
         Zoom Shabbat! Try it; you'll like it.

    Dear Friends,
       This was scheduled to be a big weekend at Adas Emuno and it remains so.

        But first, here is my Special Shabbat Video Message #9 (and likely my last-see below).

         Our Shabbat Evening Confirmation Service (7:30 PM) will take place via Zoom (by invitation only to keep it small) and we congratulate our graduating 10th graders Blake Klein and Lilly Futeran.

         Our final Shabbat Morning Torah Study (10:00 AM) will take place via Zoom as we conclude our year long discussion of "Turning points in Jewish History". 

         Our Religious School year also ends, with our Closing Ceremony (11:30 AM) on Sunday via Zoom, and I take this opportunity to extend my thanks to all who helped make it a success during our challenging time.
     
         This week we were able to install high speed internet in our sanctuary, and we hope to begin offering Shabbat evening services via Zoom next week. In a few weeks we will  install a high quality live-streaming camera system that will make possible an even better viewing capability.

    Dear Friends,
    My Special Shabbat Video Message is a shout-out to all you moms out there (and it’s under 5 min.).

    Our Shabbat Morning Zoom Torah Study (10:00 AM) looks at the mass migration of Eastern European Jews that made America home to the greatest Jewish community in the world.

    Sunday Morning Zoom Confirmation Class (11:00 AM) is part of our remote learning religious school program.

    Do you have some flowering plants that you can spare for our new Butterfly Garden? We still have space and donations are gratefully accepted.

    Dear Friends,
       Amidst the pandemic Israel celebrated her 72nd Independence Day this week, and we rejoice with her
       My Special Shabbat Video Message (#7) includes the prayer for the State of Israel and Hatikvah (sing with me!)—see below.

       Shabbat Morning Zoom Torah Study (10:00AM) will appropriately enough look at the miraculous founding of the State of Israel in 1948.

       Sunday Morning Zoom Confirmation Class (11:00AM) takes place in addition to our other grades meeting remotely.

       You should be receiving your latest edition of our Kadima newsletter and a special thanks to Sandy Zornek and Michael Scowden for a such a memorable issue in this trying time.

         Finally, on a upbeat note: we are planting our new butterfly garden beginning this weekend, at the entrance to our peace garden. If you (or someone you know) have appropriate plants to donate (now or later in the season) they will be gratefully received- please contact me.

    Dear Friends,
    This week, amidst our ongoing quarantine, we marked Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) on Tuesday and Earth Day on Wednesday. My Special Shabbat Video Message relates to both (see below).

    No less than thirty people joined us last week for our Shabbat Morning Zoom Torah Study (10:00 AM). This week focuses on the impact of the Holocaust on Jewish history; next week on the founding of Israel. You are welcome to join us for any or all of our remaining sessions of the school year by contacting me.
