Dear Friends,
  Let me be the first to wish you a happy New Year!

  We'll take a look back at the year that was, with my annual "Rabbi's Top Ten Jewish News Stories", at our Shabbat Evening Service (7:30 PM). 

   Our Shabbat Morning Torah Study (10:00 AM) resumes, as we begin semester two of our year long study of modern Israel. We'll look at challenges faced by the young nation during the 1950's, including the Suez crisis and the ultra-sensitive issue of accepting Holocaust reparations. 

  Religious school, however, is still on break. 

  Mark your calendar- next Sunday the 11th (10:30 AM with bagels)- the second meeting of our new Adas Emuno Travel Club- Esther Gandica will talk about growing up in Greece in a Sephardic Jewish family, and how her parents survived the German occupation by hiding in Athens!
